They're quite sharp, curved enough to pick up loose threads from machine embroidery and the finger holes are very handy. I also use them to thread through my machine's needle eye and cut the thread under the presser foot after each color (the curve really helps). My other scissors (German) are very sharp and last forever. . but my thumb gets stuck in the finger holes (so annoying). To be honest, my hands aren't graceful, but they're not huge either. These are "cheaper" scissors (cut rather than forged) but they work quite well and I believe will offer lots of value for years to come.
