As good as they say

Repeat customer on multiple vehicles. The Scot in me strives for the highest quality-to-price ratio (QPR). I used to use [the most obvious competitor or if not obvious the one with the hand and hammer] and wasn't dissatisfied. Then. This company let me down by refusing to offer a model that matched my car at the time. Crap! So, a new round of exhaustive and exhaustive analysis to the point of paralysis and. I tried Spearhead. That was a few years ago; never heard of them before. charcoal? Check over. Better than "Standard"? Check over. But seriously, how do you compare these things? To be honest, it annoys me quite a bit that [the ubiquitous consumer organization that reports their testing of things] posts a video on how to replace a non-aftermarket cabin air filter without recommending the said aftermarket replacement. (In fact, I've found over the years that by the time reviews are added to the library, reviews are often already out of date, particularly with say Whirlpool or other major manufacturers that change their models frequently. But I digress.) So.) what I know? Here's what I know: It's pollen season. HORRIBLE thick yellow pollen on *everything*. It's time to change the cabin filter. No, not because it was defective, but because the pollen cover reminds me to replace it. Pull out the old one and WOW it's covered in things: leaves, seeds, the 'thing', pollen - meaning it's been doing its job since the family saw it driving in the family van as a pollen break! So Spearhead clearly worked. What else? Oh yes, perfect fit. You may have different experience but it fits my car perfectly. Thick enough to drown out fan noise (sometimes those squirrels can hum). Oh, and did I mention Scott? What about QPR? Yes, well, not only was it just as good as "that other brand", it was significantly cheaper (like me!). Note. When I say "at least no worse" it's because I haven't used Spearhead to the point of failure (how would I do that?). Again, all I know is that the one I replaced still worked fine and I'm perfectly happy with the great new one, confident it's doing its job. the ones with pictures). Too bad I didn't take a before and after photo, but that says more about my van than this filter.
