Review on 🚰 AP817 2 Filter Replacement Cartridge by Aqua Pure by Josue Porter

This product is one of the cartridge options for the Aqua Pure system that we have purchased: Aqua Pure Water Filter System AP802 Whole House 45 Gallon Minute. Ultimately, the filter cartridge determines what you filter out of the water. With this Aqua-Pure system we can choose between removing particles and chlorine (this product) or removing only particles (Aqua-Pure AP810-2 (AP802-1.5-C) replacement cartridge, 5 micron water filter). We chose this filter cartridge. because we wanted to filter out chlorine and dirt. It is also very important that after passing through the filter we still have a good flow of water. We're still getting 20 GPM after our water goes through the filter. Other systems reduce water flow to as little as 5 gallons per minute after it has passed through the filter. It won't work for us. (Of course, if you don't already *have* at least 20 GPM, using this filter won't increase your water flow. It just won't drop it below 20 GPM.) Our water pressure is 80 psi. I can say. You can maintain even higher water flow if you opt for a pure particle filter (AP810-2, link above), but it's not worth it for us. We wanted the chlorine to be filtered as well so it wouldn't affect the water flow. We have to change the filter cartridge every 6-12 months, but at $50 each, that's acceptable. The Aqua Pure system is inexpensive. It was originally made by Cuno, which was purchased by 3M. We have been very happy with 3M products in the past, so we trusted this brand. And so far it's been everything we hoped it would be. The water tastes good, it doesn't smell of chlorine, and the taps don't get clogged anymore. We are very satisfied.
