Review on The Glowing Daye: Microwavable Conditioning Microfiber for Ultimate Comfort by Brenda Belcher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Absolutely 5 stars! And I'm a teacher so I rate with caution :-)

This is the third hat I've bought in the last two years. All for the same price. I have used a great gel cap that has lasted many years but is no longer available. So my first choice was to buy a new gel cap. You have to use a different substance now because the gel chambers started to explode almost immediately in the microwave. Yuk. The manufacturer's additional heating method was heating in boiling water. Too much time and trouble. The 2nd hat is electric, thick plastic and tied under the chin. Aside from having to stay on the hook next to an outlet, the cap was oddly shaped and didn't fit my head snugly. The tighter tie was choking me and it still didn't fit properly. The lid neither got hot enough nor did it stay hot. There will be no other using gel or electricity. To be honest, I was basically frustrated finding anything and would resort to a heated, damp towel wrap or conditioner at the hair salon from time to time, along with a haircut. But recently a friend told me about using flaxseed or rice as a filling for heating mantles. I also saw it on Pinterest. I was still skeptical but decided to try the Glow by Day Conditioner Cap. I cannot express how surprised and happy I am with my purchase: 1. Flaxseed filling heats up quickly and evenly, 2. Seeds are natural so don't worry about gelling chemicals, 3. the cap is big enough, 4. good - made with strong elastic brim and high quality fabric, 5. very comfortable, like a ski hat or beanie, 6. you can walk around the house and almost forget you're wearing this, 7. it looks great too. You could probably even date him and not look up! There really aren't any downsides other than that the kit doesn't come with a plastic cover. But you can buy inexpensive packs of disposable caps or opt for thicker, washable caps. I have very long bleached hair and I'm in my 50's so I have to do a lot of maintenance to keep my hair looking good. I have a big head too lol so if you have a small head with cropped hair a cap might not fit. I've already used it twice with my regular post shampoo conditioner, and only for 15 minutes because I was in a hurry. My blonde hair is really shiny, straight with no split ends and easy to style. I can't think of a better way to do it with a deeper conditioning product and a 30+ minute finish. 100% Winner.
