I bought one of these to peel little bits of dirt off our fresh eggs and it did the job so well I kept buying more for other uses. Because rinse jar lids before opening with a can opener or ring tongue. We've all heard stories about how they get infected. They get washed regularly in the dishwasher without losing bristles or anything, so I find them durable. The bristles are quite stiff so they do well for what I use brushes for. I don't think I'd use them on something delicate like a ripe peach, but they did a great job of peeling the lemon zest, which I'll try in a moment. We're reducing the amount of plastic we buy and I've been REALLY happy. Finding wooden brushes that I liked.
