Good and Quiet, HVAC

This fan works as advertised. The installation went "OK". It fits, but the bottom skin is made for a smaller opening with thinner chevrons than my Saber 36BHQ. I barely managed to grab enough wood to secure the trim screws in place. Also, the pad doesn't quite reach the fan housing. The blue wire must be connected to B+. It says brake for some reason (yes, let me run a wire to the pinbox ;-)). Red - B+, Black - B-. There's a lot to like about this multi-reversible fan with motorized cover. The remote control is useful if you have high ceilings, but it's infrared, so it needs to be in direct line of sight of the fan itself. A suggestion for improvement would be RF so you could be in the kitchen to turn this on. And how the heck do you stop the LED strobing? It shines as bright as a 3am airplane flash. It's actually a good buy! Edit 12/11/2020. Having lived with this fan, a few things are worth mentioning. The rain sensor works perfectly, the LEDs and strobe lights are annoying. Connect both power cords to the wall switch, turn off the switch to turn off the flash (also won't close when it's raining). The biggest concern is that the screen will NOT come off easily. If you don't cover this thing, you'll end up on the roof and keep removing the leaves. Still a good value.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Good, but not great
