Review on Women's Twister Firm Graduated Compression Sock by Sockwell by Billy Berry

Important tips for putting on and taking off socks

I have several pairs of these 20-30mmHg compression stockings. by Sockwell, which are made from wool and bamboo fibers. These socks are BREATHABLE, which I can't say about other compression socks made entirely of synthetic fibers. This makes the socks comfortable and can also be worn in summer. I'm 78 years old, 5ft 6in, 137, long legs, and the medium/large size fits perfectly, reaching to my knees with comfortable compression at 20-30mmHg. Literally in two weeks of wearing them, the edema on my legs has substantially reduced and the venous insufficiency on the ankles caused by edema is also disappearing. (Hint: socks alone won't cure anything. Make sure you're getting enough sleep, exercise, eating plenty of protein [use protein powder if you can't stomach all the meat] and drinking plenty of clean water. And be careful on your diet supplements.) With arthritic hands, I thought I'd never be able to put my socks on or off, but a physical therapist's advice changed everything: WEAR LATEX GLOVES during these surgeries and *iron* socks on/off; Don't fold them in half first, that will only double the effort. Latex gloves offer grip that bare hands don't have. Works great. The advantage of Sockwell socks is that they come in all colors and flavors, which is fun, as opposed to the discouraging messages like "You're getting old" or "You have health problems". that they send ugly medical brown or black socks. I hand wash my socks in the sink (using Shaklee's Basic H), don't *wring* them out (just wringing out the excess water), but let them dry in the shower, which I think will last longer. Even at 25€ they are still expensive for socks and I wouldn't want to wear them unnecessarily.
