Review on KSEIBI 271420 Machinist Engineers Hammer With Soft Grip Handle - Forged Steel Cross Peen Sheet Metal Hammer, Ideal For Blacksmith Forging Tools (1.10 Lb / 500 Grams) by Mohamed Greene

Epoxy is just for show, hammer is not usable

The epoxy at the top of the head is just for show. It does not actually go around the handle at all. The only thing holding the handle to the head is a very thin flexible silicone type substance in a ring around the bottom of the head. The handle is improperly sized for the head and it just rests onto a tiny flap of plastic on the side of the handle.I didn't even get a dozen light hits out of this before the head fell to the ground. Given the slab of epoxy at the top of the head, this will be too much work to chip out and rehandle. The head seems to be of okay quality, but I can't recommend this one at all.

Pros
  • Its a very comfortable hammer to swing and a great value for all you tin knockers out there.
Cons
  • The weight distribution of the hammer may not be optimal for all types of forging
