As they are the same socket base the only thing that can put you off using them in place of a 194 or 168 , the position. 921 or 912 have a larger envelope and are also larger than 194 or 168. 921 and 912 are high power lamps. They are not dash mountable and not suitable for this application. I have an RV with an electric headlight, a standard 194 that I took out and put in LED. I removed it and put in a JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 2000 Lumens 921 and it threw a 194 LED bulb out of the water. There was plenty of room for a 921 LED bulb under that 3-inch round lens case. I did this for SAFETY reasons as I want to see the steps clearly at night and the lenses are yellow so they don't attract bugs so it came out PERFECT!
