I bought this little guy to use with my Kenwood TM-D710A dual band ham radio. After cutting off the PS2 connector and soldering on the 1/8" headphone jack (and plugging in the 5v regulator in my car) I was ready to go. This thing draws so little current that I just turned it on the whole Keep time on and don't have to wait for block time when I leave.Works great with my APRS setup and should work fine for other things as well.I'll probably buy another one later this year for my high altitude balloon project. I should also note that the receiver comes with a schematic with wire colors and pin locations so you can use a connector or just cut it off.
