I can't believe how well this thing works! I have a 2x7 patchwork quilt on a hardwood floor that will not stay in place. I had to adjust it every day and after my 5 year old niece shed when the rug slipped out from under her I knew I had to secure it. I did a little research and didn't want to use anything that would damage my hardwoods like floor tape. This pillow was the perfect solution! It was inexpensive, can be trimmed, very easy to use and does a great job of holding that slippery suction cup in place. No more adjusting every time one of my dogs walks across the room! Now I can vacuum the carpet with no problem and it doesn't move. I even tried to move it and couldn't. The only "weak spot" I found was the fringes on the carpet. There is an inch of fringe at each end and instead of showing the rug lining underneath the fringe I cut it off. Thus, the fringe is unreliable and may slip. Just something to keep in mind when using a fringed edge rug. Not sure if this works on carpet? But this material can be used for attaching carpets to hard floors, attaching mattresses to box springs, as shelf liners, etc. In terms of thickness, there isn't much here. general. It won't make a noticeable difference as the carpets will feel softer, but I didn't worry about that. There are other pads that are thicker if that's what you're looking for. For the price, it was a great option to protect my carpet and eliminate the security risk. Definitely recommend! 👍🏼👍🏼
