At first I was excited to test this "Personal Cloud". Since I'm a software developer who also takes a lot of photos; I have a NAS at home that I use to back up all my computers and my photos. I thought a home system for automatically backing up my photos from our phones would be cool. I set up this system and even took the time to clean up a 2TB external hard drive to use as the "base" drive for this device. .When I first opened the app (it's a very basic app) it asked me to find a monument and then enter the Wi-Fi details. After that it went into automatic update mode and said I needed to connect it to the display (it already did). I saw the firmware update screen. After updating the firmware, the screen never displays anything. App says it has different output modes but I can't get it to switch from 1080p. I just left it for 20 hours and still no response. I thought the device was broken; disconnected and reconnected and the same. I had to CLEAR CACHE AND DATA for the app, only after that the app allowed me to "log into my memorial" again and now it works. how slow this device is; processes a photo in 2-20 seconds. All of my photos take several days to process at this speed. The fact that it only supported the older 2.4GHz WiFi and its first boot up took almost 2 minutes makes me think they really made the SOC/CPU cheaper on this thing. They really need to fix app issues and improve user experience to get this device ready for prime time. You need at least 2x faster processor and 5GHz WiFi (or at least 4x faster WiFi for 2.4GHz). Currently, download and processing speeds are in the kilobits-per-second range, not megabits-per-second. It's 2020 and the pictures are big and people are taking a lot of them. I think this device is more for older people who don't really understand cloud backup or don't want to pay for it. Unfortunately, problems with the application prevent such people from getting this device to work (hence the other bad reviews). I wanted to drop it myself when writing this review; and decided to do everything in my power to try and get this device working before I wave it unfairly. All in all, it really works; It's slow to process and the app is too basic. However, the price is pretty low for what you get; and that makes it cheaper than most other devices, allowing you to use your own drives. If I'm having trouble with it after the next week when my files have finished processing; I will keep updating the review. As it stands, I'll leave the rating as it is. If this review helped you at all (or saved you money); Please mark it as useful! Thanks very much!
