I wish I had tried acrylic rods sooner, damn I've had nipple piercings for 2 years now and the healing process has been painful and long. I wanted to give them up forever, but after doing a little more research I decided to give acrylic/bioplastic dumbbells a try. I'm so glad I did! I've even bought some very expensive titanium implant rods that have given me problems so far (RIP on top of my wasted $45). After switching to this, using a biotech spray against my shower schedule, and diligently applying jojoba oil, my piercings have healed better in the last 3 weeks with these sticks than in the last 2 years with various metal sticks. If you are having trouble healing, be sure to try acrylic sticks that fit snugly against the skin - even longer sticks cause problems over time.
