I've heard quite a few DS18 speakers and don't recall being impressed. and I generally expect a "small/thin" speaker to be less suitable than a "not" thin speaker. but the app had limited space (Jeep JK Dash speakers). I connected them to some DS18 super tweets (removing the built in crossover that the tweets had) and also used some DS18 crossovers and gave them a lot of power. and they sound great. very close to the music. no weird interpretation of frequencies like some mid-bass speakers. They look great, and the red metal ball cone matches the Pioneer Pro 6.5si midbass used in the rear.
