Review on 7014646 Zero Refrigerator Light Switch by Eric Froedge

Revainrating 1 out of 5

DOES NOT WORK ON ALL MODELS!

I have an older Sub Zero 211RFD. This model originally required a 4-pole switch that turned off the condenser fans (when the light was turned on) when the door was opened so cold air would not be lost. Unfortunately, the original part is no longer produced. To adapt this part to older units you need to do 2 things: 1. "Skip" the fan circuit to allow the fan to keep running when the door is open and closed. The fan will still be active when the door is open, but oh well. 2. Make a small wire harness to change the orientation of the original switch connector from horizontal to vertical to match the new switch pin orientation (NOT shown in photo for simplicity). I will be uploading photos of the pin sides of both the old and new switches as well as instructions on how to rewire the circuits to accommodate the new switches.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Fragile
