Review on πŸ”Œ Type C Wireless Charging Receiver - Nillkin Magic Tag USB C Qi Wireless Charger Receiver Chip for Google Pixel/2/3a/Nexus 6P and More USB-C Phones by Christine Eads

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as advertised, added wireless charging to my Pixel XL

I was very skeptical given the price. I had wireless charging on my Nexus 6 and added it to my Samsung S4 but it's not on my Pixel XL and I missed it. This solution adds that feature that I'm happy to bring back. It charges my Pixel XL at a quoted rate of around 700-900mA in amps. Given that Amps reads about -200mA when the screen is on and not charging, I think the 1000mA rating is mostly accurate for this thing. It doesn't charge as fast as a 2.4A wired charger, but it charges fast enough. I've clipped it into the Spigen case and it adds a bit of thickness, but that's okay. I'll definitely keep this on pretty much all of the time, unless I get into a low battery state where there's no Qi Pad or anything in sight. Maybe I have to look for a Qi mat for the car now. I would limit the frequency of turning it on and off. USB-C is a hard connection, so if you pull on the ribbon, it can break it. You can pry it from the other side to avoid pulling on the tape. Overall it works as it should and adds wireless charging to your phone for a great price.
