If you've ever worked with leather before, you can get these tools up and running. If you are a real beginner save your money. Waxed thread - descent, needles and stitches are really poorly done. The needles are ground to a fine finish so your lacing thread may fray and your leather item may be damaged due to the unfinished nature of metal needles. The 4mm spikes are also not milled. If you pound the skin with a hammer, it's almost impossible to remove the iron as all the inside edges of the teeth are rough and jagged. I work with metal to get them working, but save yourself the trouble and pay extra for some real piercing irons. This is poor workmanship and will damage your leather product unless you know how to finish and then sharpen the teeth on these irons.
