I used this when drilling an aluminum intake manifold to bolt on a 3/8 NPT fitting. This bit chewed through aluminum with no problem. I opened up a smaller hole that was already there in the manifold so I couldn't use the pointed tip on the bit. I was surprised how well he grabbed the material and ran properly. I will not hesitate to buy another one.
