Bought this system for fun and was surprised at how good it really is. Remove that battery and use 3 AAA batteries instead, so it might be easier depending on your situation. Second, the buttons actually feel pretty good. I've played other handhelds of this ilk and the directional buttons in particular are REALLY bad in general, pushing directions you won't be pushing. There are no problems here. The games are all pretty basic, but all the ones I've tested so far still work well, so my only real gripe is the screen itself. It's a little hard to explain, but the screen looks like it's a misaligned one LCD as the colors are a bit sharper if you rotate the system 90 degrees to the right. However, it doesn't cause any problems with the game, just a small oddity worth noting. Generally yes, I see that some children benefit from it. And heck, I'll keep it with me on road trips and the like.
