Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Freud 10" x 24T Thin Kerf Rip Blade (LU87R010): The Ultimate Multi-Purpose Cutting Solution by Nigel Cohen

Inaccurate wheel

I bought this wheel a few years ago, mainly because of the rave reviews, including from woodworking professionals. Maybe I have junk and my results cannot be generalized. However, I was disappointed in its performance when I received it, parked it and just tried again with the same lousy results. is a Forrest WWII 40 tooth which is a general purpose blade, not a break blade. Both he and Freud have a thin kerf of 3/32 inch. I used a giant Forrest stabilizer on both blades. I've tried nice straight grain old pine and hard walnut. Side-by-side comparison: Forrest tore the glue line; Freud made a jagged incision. It's on the same boards. I'll be using Freud to create flat cuts for splines, but that's probably all he's good for. Too bad the Freud Dado set I have gives excellent results. Not this blade.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Dull packaging
