Extremely disappointed with tolerances. While there is useful lateral tilt adjustment in the track at an angle, there is no such tilt adjustment at depth of the track. Consequently, the front of the template and then the acrylic base is hooked onto the front edge of the table saw. As others have pointed out, this problem does not arise with small pieces of wood. However, with larger workpieces, the gauge sticks heavily to the edge of the table and abruptly stops the movement of the workpiece towards the blade. This grip is potentially dangerous because, without modification, the transducer must be slightly lifted to move off the edge of the table. This slight movement can have all kinds of effects on the cut and the part's movement on the surface of the saw, distracting the operator from focusing on the rotating saw blade. This one design flaw negates almost all of the other nice qualities of the miter gauge. Shocks can be softened with a shim of about .508mm - for those who don't have such a thin shim, seven folds of Post-It might be enough - provided the note is only the width of the foil. And, of course, care must be taken when the manometer is reset to a different angle. YMMV so a handy set of washers is a must. I didn't have a handy set of shims, so I rummaged through my 50 year old shim collection and found one that was 1.1mm in diameter, smaller than the .75" spool width and larger inside diameter than the spool width. Screw for attaching the pressure gauge to the slide. Not what I wanted as a solution, but I think it will do. The good news in that regard is that the woman has less reason to mock my vast and growing collection of "useless" iron in multiple jars.
