No software support and SD card not working

This is my 7th DLINK camera and this is the worst setup experience ever. I tried setting up WiFi with a QR code, but it just timed out. I managed to use an ethernet cable to connect to the camera and set it up that way. Had to download the mydlink app for iPhone which is terrible on iPad but iPhone is too small to use the camera properly. You would think that they would have a dedicated iPad app for watching videos. The other problem was getting WIFI to work. I happened to come across an entry where I specified WPA2. I have no idea what he was trying to use before. Now for the really annoying problem. The reason I bought this camera was because it had an SD slot. When motion was detected, it said it could record to the SD card. I get motion alerts but no files appear on the SD card. It had a spinning death arrow from time to time when I tried to view the SD card contents. The camera is too new. too buggy. I should have bought an older debugged version.

Pros
  • Streaming and broadcasting: Watch live video streaming on Amazon Fire TV, Echo Show, Echo Spot or Google Chromecast Works with both Alexa and Google Assistant
Cons
  • Expensive
