Within a month of purchasing this drive, before I even had to fill it halfway, it spontaneously failed. It is no longer recognized as formatted and I have tried unsuccessfully to get my data back. It wasn't overloaded either, since I didn't write any sector more than 3 times. Windows XP might have something to do with this, but given what others have reported about crashes, I believe this (and other major counterparts) is garbage. (January 16, 2004) After using Restorer2000 (a great program by the way) to restore my hard drive, I have been using the hard drive successfully for over two years with no errors. It seems that my earlier pessimism was unjustified. (September 5, 2006)
