the holes are too small
Tiny holes protect the toothbrush, but not enough for water to dry inside. The toothbrush does not dry out and a tiny drop of water is "sealed" in the device. It may even produce some mold. I know. I threw away my toothbrush, which I sometimes use when I travel.
