Review on πŸ” ASUS VN248Q-P 23.8" Flicker-Free DisplayPort Monitor with 1920x1080 Resolution and HDMI connectivity. by Dante Kohl

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great if you buy 1. But more than that, keep this in mind.

Bought 3 of these monitors. I like her, but there are two things. 1) The first had a bad video chip. The screensaver on one of them was distorted, tinted green and had 3 red lines. A bit like when the graphics card is about to die. Only the monitor has not yet been connected to the computer. Tried a reset. Hooked it up to a PC anyway and it was just a DOA monitor. I asked Revain to replace it. If everything had gone well with the monitor replacement, I would have gotten 5/5 stars. However. 2) The replacement went "well". But it had a SIGNIFICANT white/light gray green cast and was clearly slightly darker than the other two. Now I'm a graphic artist and gamer. I bought 3 at a time so the monitors are close together. I expect some slight differences even from monitors on the same assembly line with the same parts. The first two I received are a little different, but tolerable with a little calibration. But my replacement monitor was VERY noticeably greener and a little less bright. I had to adjust the RGB curves SIGNIFICANTLY to get a close match. And if I look at the date of construction - it was the same month. And the serial number was within 10 digits of one of my other ones. Maybe he needed additional checks and didn't pass them? Who knows. I agree that buying three monitors under $200 means they won't be a perfect match. But that 3rd monitor was off A LOT. In the end, a combination of custom settings on the monitor (I really wanted to use sRGB mode but can't rebalance in that mode), Windows settings, and graphics card settings brought them very close and acceptable. but I hate that I've had to adjust one monitor way more aggressively than the others.
