This steno cover easily accomodates an 80 page 6"x9" steno pad, and may even handle thicker ones up to 100 pages. Right off the bat, I too a utility knife and carefully removed the pen loop with disturbing the leather stitching than held it on. Unfortunately, the loop flops inward and interferes to the point of tearing steno sheets when turning pages or returning them to position. I normally carry a couple of pens in my pocket, so no problem. The leather is REAL, so it will mar and wear easily giving the cover a rugged used look after a while, which I personally find quite pleasing. For a steno cover that looks fantastic, has a wonder leather smell, and holds a steno pad with ease, the price can be beat. I'm thinking of getting another one because I like this one so much.
