The best nerd binoculars, butterfly binoculars and travel binoculars!

We heard about this from Betty Gatewood during a tutorial she taught at Shenandoah Wildflower Weekend 2018. Betty makes exquisite floral illustrations ranging from simple journals to meticulous botanical illustrations. She needs to see VERY clearly what she is drawing. She is used to questioning critically and recognizes when an instrument is above average. They have three major benefits: 1) crisp, clear, undistorted image and colors; 2) small, light weight, easy to pack; 3) the ability to focus roughly on your fingertips! Without #1, the other two don't matter. But the image IS right there. Pentax used a "porro" prism instead of the more popular "roof" prism design. This gives the glass more gaps where moisture can penetrate. I'm pretty sure Pentax thought about it. it feels VERY well sealed! But it also means light travels through the glass with less distress, contributing to clarity and color accuracy. It also means the lenses can be placed closer together at the other end of the glass (the "lens" end), allowing for focusing without the feeling of strabismus. How important is close focus? The butterfly won't sit down at all if you get very close to it. But if they are within three or four feet of you, a moth that has landed will remain in place until the reason it landed has gone. An eightfold butterfly at a height of 1.20 m is a sight to behold! You can see details in the pattern of wings, antennae, legs, etc. that you would normally have to use on a dead person with a magnifying glass. " Politics. Up close, you can see these flowers BETTER than if you were holding them. without having to bend down! And all this in a small, lightweight package. No, microlight tourists should not apply. This is not THAT light. But it packs easily into a brain or outer pack bag and weighs less than many other MUCH less capable goggles. These should be the perfect nerd binoculars, butterfly and camping binoculars!
