I have two siphons for cleaning gravel. I have the popular Aqueon pear siphon and the Terapump siphon. After comparing performance and ease of use, Terapump wins in every respect. The issues I have with the Aqueon are the hose kinks, components needing to be assembled and disassembled before and after use, and the actual hard plastic gravel cleaner nozzle is too short for my 29 gallon tank which keeps me stuck. my forearm in the water to clear the gravel. Well, Terapump solves all these problems. The hose is a little stiff, but flexible and doesn't kink. The Terapump comes in one piece, so no assembly or disassembly is required. The gravel cleaning nozzle is long enough to reach the bottom of the tank without submerging any part of the body in the water. The Terapump has a faster water flow than the Aqueon. This feature is good for speeding up the water changing process as you don't want the filter to take too long to turn off during a water change. I will now use the Terapump for all water changes.
