I was a bit skeptical when I first opened the packaging and saw a real siphon pump. It didn't seem like the most durable product, but I gave it a try and was really impressed with how well it worked. At first it seemed to me that removing water from my aquarium was a little slow. I figured I had to make sure the drain hose was under my tank. I am very enthusiastic and satisfied with this product. The old Aqueon pump stopped working. I had one of those pumps with a tube that had to be moved up and down to get the water flowing, so I was really hoping I didn't have to use this method, which can be frustrating when it won't start flowing instantly.
