Just over a year ago, I decided to purchase this slick gadget. Since this is my first smartphone, I was concerned about the possibility of encountering problems. Yet, in theory, clever was up to par. The design is great, the battery life is satisfactory, the sound is adequate (not amazing, but not bad, either), and the camera takes decent daylight shots, however significant graininess becomes apparent after sunset and throughout the night. Cons include infrequent crashes, followed by the browser shutting down and the flashlight going dark. In addition, official ates are usually unsettling because of the possibility of discovering a bug, which is fine if they repair it in six months or not at all. Overall, the smartphone is excellent, save occasional ate instability. The phone would be perfect if Xiaomi could make the ates more stable in the future.
