MiG welders have inserts through which the welding wire is pushed. Eventually, the earplugs need to be replaced due to accident or old age. Any kink or sharp protrusion in the guide will prevent the wire from moving smoothly to the torch. I realized this when my Lincoln Weld-Pak 155 started spattering the filler wire. I removed the outer housing from the inner cable drive mechanism and loosened the set screw in the base and pulled out the bushing. The 35-40-15 .030-.035 sleeve I bought from WeldingCity.com fit me perfectly after I cut it to the right length. Easy to install. (INSTALLATION NOTE: If you need to cut or trim the guide tube, make sure there are no sharp ends in the guide that could catch the filler wire. You will need to file it.) My wire drive welder is now working properly. I found the cost of this replacement liner to be fair and the construction is similar to the Lincoln original.
