These brackets are not strong enough to raise the sunroof on a 2010 Escape. Installs easily and fits snugly but does not raise the sunroof. They have to help with a finger, and once fully open they keep the hatch open. Slowly experiment with the hatch at full reach a few times to make sure nothing is binding and check that the hinges are secure on the hinges. The original struts raised the hatch without our help except when it was below zero, but died a slow death. Maybe you need to go to Ford for regular $$ racks?
