Our microwave no longer works. Was going to throw it away and buy a new one, but Google suggested testing the internal ceramic fuse first. Yes, the fuse has blown. (Had to test it with an ohmmeter as this type of fuse is not transparent like glass car fuses.) Tried local Ace Hardware and found this item there for five bucks. Treat repairs to electricity and light electrical appliances with respect and care. Make sure the device is unplugged, then press the power button a few times to discharge the remaining energy in the capacitor. After replacing the blown fuse and replacing the instrument cover, our previously reliable microcontroller worked like new again. Common sense dictates that fuses blow for some reason, and there could be a bigger reason why your microwave has stopped working, but for a few dollars and relatively little effort, it might be worth trying before you spend hundreds of dollars spend on a new device.
