I only rate products after I've used them in practice. In this case I can only give two stars while waiting for a response from the manufacturer. The concept is great, the technology is mediocre and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. After adjusting the width, the top loop started separating from the fabric and I immediately replaced the lines with reflective cords since I usually hang out with our locals. Scout Squad and I want to make sure the boys see my lines. But as other reviewers have pointed out, this is not paracord. The buttons may look cool at first, but considering they are thin nylon, as you undo the side buttons the buttons will begin to cut through the fabric they are attached to and after they are slipped over that Having been exposed to rain over the weekend, they are already showing some signs of rust. . . I just used the included pins to hang the bottom of the bow tie and used stronger string pins to hold it. On the plus side, we camped on October 14, 2017 when the rainfall record was set. that day at the place where we camped. A lot of my roommates got wet, but I can tell you the fly kept me and my hammock dry the whole time, and it was because of the crazy heavy rain and wind that destroyed some of my roommates' tents. With better production and some minor changes to the overall design, they would have a winner. Even if I don't get a satisfactory answer from the manufacturer, I'll keep this bow tie to myself, I just have to get out my sewing machine and make a few alterations. All in all I do not recommend buying this bow tie although many visitors will come to find out. I told my roommates I would let them know after using it. I will provide an update after receiving a response from the supplier. To update. After several uses and consultation with the manufacturer, I upgraded it to 3 stars. The quality isn't the best yet, but it has survived two heavy rains and two strong gusts of wind. After first use I would recommend running an extra ridge line just for the fly to reduce stress on the wires. During this last use in early November the temp dropped to 30 and I was only using Snugpak Cocoon insulation and was warm enough as the wind couldn't get to me. And again I stayed dry with no further problems. I've also added a few more photos to give you an idea of what it looks like with the hammock inside. My score is 4. If and only if you use this fly with a backbone support like any large rain fly, it works well. We camped with the Boy Scouts in NW Indiana in January, it was a chilly weekend with snow and high winds. The fly really did keep the wind out (except for a few small spots where the lines pulled through which kept me warm and it was nice to be able to change without the cold wind blowing at me. The only downside was that it wasn't closed and held too much of my condensation so there was a nice layer of frost on the inside of the bow tie If it weren't for the wind and snow I would leave the ends open to let the moisture out At this point I would recommend buying It comes with the caveat that you must use the centerline for support rather than solely relying on the tabs provided to support it.
