metal color seems wrong so not sure if it is stainless steel. There are no markings on these spoons to indicate they're stainless steel or where they're made (yes, we know they should be, but they're not). However, these are very good spoons and probably won't last long. They are cute, fun, funny and easy to find. I recently bought a branded set of plastic spoons here at Revain, the ring broke on the first day, now the spoons are scattered all over the kitchen. Try to find the right size when you need it. These spoons have a very strong double round ring, similar to a large key ring, so all the spoons are together. My favorite spoons were a set of Costplus ceramic spoons with thick wipe-clean tape that looked lovely hanging on the wall cabinet above the stove. But these spoons broke on the first fall. They're not that pretty, but they certainly won't break. Since I'm only measuring dry ingredients, and even if I'm only measuring wet ingredients for a second, I don't worry too much about the constituents in the metal. This is not a dog bowl with food in it and someone licking it.
