This is a VERY solidly assembled, well working and durable unit, both a transmitter and a collar. I have never held such high-quality consumer electronics in my hands. The range is fantastic. I currently have two dogs in training and am considering a third, so this set of four collars is pretty good. The light function is new to me. My cheap old collars didn't have it. It certainly helps to see the dogs at night. The 128-stop sensitivity is nice in that you can set the level at the threshold the dog will notice, but you can increase it to correct if needed. Batteries are quite durable. It's nice to have batteries in the collar AND the transmitter. The charger also comes with an adapter to charge both at the same time. Please note - the form factor of the transmitter is different from many. I like the longer and thinner shape, but it's larger than some of the others. The colors of the buttons that correspond to the collars are quite bright and distinct. Also - like the fact that the transmitter (manually) receives a "connection" signal from the collar indicating it's working. Otherwise, you should check the collar for vibrations or "nicks". It is very comfortable. The only downside is the price, but it works very well and will last a long time.
