Okay. about everything in order. These plants stink! The plastic smell was so strong when I first opened it that I immediately wanted to send it back. But sending things back is so painful that I decided to see what I could do. And I'm glad I did! Because I really like them in my aquarium in Alberta. To get rid of the smell, I let them sit on the counter for a few days and then boiled them for a few minutes. The cooking really took the smell away and I also feel like it softened the plastic enough to give them a natural look. In the water, the leaves fan out and drape in a way that I think looks amazing. The bases are heavy enough to support the plants, but I buried mine in the substrate anyway to make them look realistic. I would recommend them. Especially for the price. But seriously, it's better to cook these baddies before throwing them in the tank.
