A friend recently asked me to record a video of his band at an upcoming concert. I have an amazing camera for video recording (OMD-EM1 mk2) but for live music I figured it would be better to do a little more than just rely on the camera's built-in microphone. I'm not a video expert or audiophile. I started researching options and quickly realized there was so much to know, but I didn't have the time to do all the research. I looked at the big names but found reviews that said this deity mic was as good or even better and cheaper. I ordered and hoped for the best. I was literally driving down the street (my husband was driving) on my way to the show and put this mic on the camera. When I found out I had to enable the "Plug in Power" setting on the camera, I was ready to go. I was able to adjust the audio settings in the camera and adjust the microphone gain during the audio test. It was an outdoor event so there was a lot of noise aside from the music. I was able to narrow that down with the microphone settings. I also used the included dead cat to deal with wind noise. The processing of the microphone is solid. And comes with a durable carry case. In general, I'm very happy with how the sound turned out in the video. It sounded live. sour notes, skipped strings and all that. If it could automatically correct group errors, THAT would be something! Completely satisfied with my choice.
