Get to know the charger. Did a test run and it turned itself off overnight while charging a standard 1 year old battery on the 2 amp setting. I think it should stay on and keep the battery alive for a long time. With another vehicle outdoors I couldn't leave it on overnight but I could see that after 8 hours it was in phase 7 and kept the battery going. The only way to find out what it was in step 7 is to get a manual and compare the voltage reading to the chart. The problem is that the lights for phase 4, phase 6 and phase 7 come on the same. The manual recommends leaving the charger plugged in until it enters stage 5 - solid green with no flashing amber. With the yellow flashing and the green solid, you can't easily tell which side of phase 5 the battery is on unless you pull out the diagram and compare the voltages.
