Review on iFi Zen Blue V2 - HiFi Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver DAC 🎢 for Streaming Music to Speakers/AV Receivers - Optical/Coaxial/SPDIF/BRCA/4.4 Balanced Output (US Version) by Tracy Thrash

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Big advantage - great DAC.

This was my replacement Audioengine BT-1. The Zen build is much better, the range (version 2) is excellent and slightly better than the audio engine. However, the sound is the most impressive feature. Bluetooth has always had some compression/harshness in the midrange. It didn't go away, but it got a lot better. In fact, fi Zen has almost the same DA conversion as oppo BD-105 when streaming LDAC at 990kbps. With a high-resolution wired connection, the $1,300 Oppo will likely outperform the Zen. Still, this kind of performance is impressive considering the price. I recommend this Bluetooth receiver as "state of the art" for Bluetooth. It's so good that I use it almost exclusively as my only sound source.
