Hello everyone! I bought my HP laptop 6 months ago. I've found that I have slow Wi-Fi on my personal laptop compared to my work laptop. They let me do a wifi speed test at speedtest.net and fast.com. My speed was only 30 Mbps. The internet card connected to my computer is bgn 1x1. I have a mesh internet system and I've been told that my WiFi can be very fast, but the internet card connected to my computer hardware is very limited, so it only goes up to 30Mbps. I bought this USB WiFi adapter from Netgear and another one from TP to compare the two products. This one works much better. To set up this device on Windows 10, I downloaded the driver from Netgear. The Netgear Genie exe installer wouldn't load so after googling I found that all I had to do was click my wifi icon in the system tray and then click "wifi 2" and connect "wifi 2" to my preferred wifi. Now I have "2" internet, not 1 - so double internet. This product alone increased my speed from 30Mbps to 197Mbps. I watched a YouTube video that taught me how to change my internet IP address for faster internet on Google. After changing my internet IP address to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 my Mbps dropped from 30,390! That's an increase of 1200% (if I calculate correctly). Great job Netgear!
