I have a genuine Motorcraft oil filter cover. If you have a 6.0 Powerstroke, be sure to use only genuine Motorcraft covers for the oil and fuel filter housings. Other "matching" caps appear to be the same, but due to infringement laws they cannot accurately replicate OEM parts. This allows more oil to pass through the bypass filter and return unfiltered to the engine. On the 6.0 Powerstroke (and to a lesser extent on the 7.3 Powerstroke), clean oil is directly related to engine life because the high pressure oil pump (HPOP) system and fuel injection system are very sensitive to dirty oil. Bottom line, don't skimp on filters and associated caps on the 6.0 Powerstroke! Also, this cover is the correct cover for the Horizontal Fuel Management Module (HFCM) on the driver's side frame rail.
