THEY WILL CHANGE YOUR CAP WITHOUT YOUR KNOWING!

Perfect fit. I had to change the horrible oil cap at the oil change station. Had no idea they threw away my stock cap and gave me a high filter combo with a Wix filter cap. In the meantime I will change the oil myself knowing I have the correct cap and engine filter. It was the best price and worth knowing it fits the truck.

Use a Motorcraft oil filter!

Tip. Use an OEM oil filter, I don't care if the aftermarket for the 6.0 has gotten better over the years. If you're going to spend money on someone making your oil, bring a Motorcraft filter and insist they use an OEM filter. I bought it after seeing the owner before me use an aftermarket filter. YES, it is the same cap for the oil filter and the fuel filter on the frame.

Pros
  • Nice to use

  • Can't remember

6.0 Power Stroke Oil Filter Cover Torque

Instructions state torque up to 25 Nm = 18.5 ft-lbs. However, the lid is engraved with 40Nm which can cause it to crack or round off the 36mm head screw. Do not use a pipe wrench, use the correct size socket wrench. I wouldn't want to round my head for using the wrong tool. We have to stick to the factory limits on this diesel. If only we could get oil filter companies to honestly show real filter data, betas for the filters you buy. OEM Racor says "95% at 20 microns" but doesn't tell me what…

Motorcraft is best for 6.0 Powerstroke!

I have a genuine Motorcraft oil filter cover. If you have a 6.0 Powerstroke, be sure to use only genuine Motorcraft covers for the oil and fuel filter housings. Other "matching" caps appear to be the same, but due to infringement laws they cannot accurately replicate OEM parts. This allows more oil to pass through the bypass filter and return unfiltered to the engine. On the 6.0 Powerstroke (and to a lesser extent on the 7.3 Powerstroke), clean oil is directly related to engine life because the

FOR HFCM CAP fits Caps

I have an 03 f350 with a 6.0L engine, my hfcm cover (fuel filter/pump assembly on the driver's side frame rail) has a broken plastic nut and I needed a new one. I've searched the entire web for ap/n and found nothing. Eventually I stumbled across a forum that said the oil filter cap is the same as the hfcm cap from 6.0. So I bought it, it threads well, no leaks, 40 Nm (18.5 ft/lb) of torque on the cap matches the instructions for installing the fuel filter, conveniently the same as the oil…
