Review on πŸ”Š Experience Immersive Sound with the Klipsch R-52C Powerful Detailed Center Channel Home Speaker - Black by Larkeese Casiano

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Speaker Sound Quality

For a speaker that normally sells for $299 I was a little disappointed, although it improved my sound. I think I expected more from a speaker with such a price tag. This rating applies to movies and TV shows on satellite, DVD, Blue Ray and 4K. The sensitivity rating is 95% which makes it more compatible with my Cewrin Vega fronts which also have a 95% sensitivity rating. Dialogue volume stays high when music and everything else is cranked up during action scenes. According to my wife, the sound is clearer and more understandable, I agree. It's a nice improvement over my old center speaker, which had an 89% sensitivity rating, but to me it's not as crisp as some have said. It makes good quality dialogue good, but lower quality dialogue poor and edgy, as some have reported. If the high frequencies from the source are a bit too high or bad, the voices will sound shrill. But when the high frequencies are well matched and good from the source, they add body to the voices and sound good. This also applies to my Cerwin Vegas. For example, a movie that is in stereo and only plays through the front speakers. I've always believed that a good sound system makes bad sounds worse, not better. It took me a while to tune the R 52C so that it sounded balanced and good. I played with audyssey and also with manual EQ. I had to turn down the treble on the center channel to get the sound right. But by splitting the EQ into channels and adjusting it for each, I lost my surround sound. So I went back to audyssey but had to manually adjust the speaker volume. Overall I am happy with the new Klipsch r 52C speaker. I had to set the crossover at 100Hz as this speaker only works up to 89Hz. No problem, because I always set 100 Hz for the center channel. I get good highs and good lows. In summary, the moral of my story is that the r 52c speaker doesn't make bad sounds sound better, but it does make good sounds sound good.
