Update: This weekend we brought our kitten by boat. Set up your playpen on deck. She liked being outside. Mission accomplished. When I got home I installed it in my living room, added her favorite blanket and she loves sleeping there. Original: This soft folding play grip is very easy to open and close. It has an attached elastic strap that can be fastened for stowing in your tote bag. The top opens to remove. The side entrance door can be closed with Velcro or with a zipper. We have a new kitten and this training cage will allow her to travel on the boat with us. She tried it at home and is not afraid. It was simply ripped out and cannot ruin the side rail. Another thing is that we live in Florida and if we ever have to evacuate because of a hurricane I will have a place to put it and I could add a small tray. We are glad that we can take them with us and use this to keep them safe and to be able to breathe fresh air. It folds up so easily, comes with a collapsible feeding bowl and a carry bag. This size is not too small. A little more is always better, but less would not be enough. Also suitable for other small animals. It's pretty durable but my cat won't jump on it.
