I have a tiny chihuahua who has behavior problems when we encounter dogs while walking behind a fence. The trainer I see suggested soft leaders. I went to the local pet store, tried one on, and walked around the store with it for ten minutes or more. It was perfect. The price is quite high, so I've decided not to buy it yet. When I got home I checked the Gentle Leader ratings at Revain. It received a 4.2-star rating and over 12,000 reviews. Halti received 4.3 stars and over 5,000 reviews, and the price was lower. So I thought how could I go wrong buying Halti. I ordered a size 0 which is as small as it gets. Her neck is about 1/2 inch smaller than the spec says, but thought I'd give it a try. I thought an extra strap might come in handy for control. I put it on as soon as I received it and went for a walk in it. Her throat is fine, but it doesn't "control" her. She is everywhere. Maybe the nose is too big. she is well softened. Whatever it is, I can't control it. already 2 times with the same effect, it doesn't work so I will send back and buy in exchange for the Gentle Leader.
