Our four year old will struggle with this as the red star connectors on the straps are plastic junk. Even when karting, he didn't get a chance to wear it and only trained with it indoors. Just a few times, when he put it on and off, one of these things had broken, and it was high time to turn back since he'd gotten it for his birthday that winter. However, the design itself is very cute, it also shows signs of use, although it took quite a while to try on and play with. He has never abused it or tried to be rough on it, so naturally we are very disappointed in the quality of this product.
