This trunk is well designed and well built. The big feature that drew me in is the folding tunnel. Allowing you to easily give your cat much more space when you need it, yet folds down for transport. You can also (with some clever tweaks) attach it to another carrier for even more space. But beyond that, in addition to the standard side opening, it also has a top opening for another way to get it in or out, and then plenty of pockets. Keep in mind that neither pocket can hold a ton, but probably enough for a pack of goodies and a few flimsy toys, but that's more than what you'd get with hard side holders at this price point. In addition to the top handle, it has D-rings for you to attach a strap to, although as far as I can tell there isn't a better one in the box. It feels sturdy and I would trust it as much as the stiff side for driving and the mesh side looks like it could handle most cats decently. Definitely a lot.
