In the preface to my review I would like to say that I have only used the TomTom Go Live 1535M a few times and it has been for trips on familiar routes, so I knew where I was went. .I had a little problem downloading the software, but I have a feeling it's related to Microsoft's crazy Win 8, not TomTom. Once the software was downloaded and installed, it was very easy to download the latest map and activate the free (1 year) services. The split screen on critical turns is really helpful. A map will appear on the left, and the right will clearly state which lane you need to be on and when you need to be on it. I've only seen it on the interstates so far, but it's a huge plus. HD traffic goes direct! It shows how far ahead traffic is and how long it will take to get through it. Alternative routes weren't offered to me as the wait wasn't that long, but it will calculate the route around the intersection. I bought this unit to use on our travels in our RV. While it doesn't have an RV setting, I've found that it lets you choose route types and avoids ferries and dirt roads, which is something we're trying to avoid with moho. While I find the TomTom very useful, I think it would be very naรฏve to rely 100% on it or any other navigation device, especially when used in a large motorhome.
