Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Ahmad ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly what I wanted, but basically everything is fine.

Used as a portrait. The picture, of course, is nothing with him, very tolerable, but he doesn’t have any zest. The same stupid helios gives a more artistic blur. In general, I did not like this lens, I sold it. I use a manual antique fifty dollars, it’s even more convenient with it, since autofocus is still worthless, and the picture is much nicer and, as a result, even better with it. The lens should be put in the same line as Kit 18-55, i. E. entry-level glass of the third grade. In principle, it’s suitable for an amateur, with it you can get very good pictures, but it’s better to take something more interesting - the same antiques.

Pros
  • Pretty normal picture. relatively not expensive.
Cons
  • It feels like I'm in front of some second-rate Chinese flimsy thing, made of fragile Chinese plastic. Autofocus with him constantly misses. The angle of rotation of the focusing ring is very small, which makes it impossible to manually focus it normally, there are no marks on the rangefinder. There is no sharpness on an open hole (due to the fact that it smears AF).
